Right to Dream Backs Five Projects Changing Communities in 2025

At Right to Dream, football has always been more than a game. It’s a catalyst for change. A way to build leaders, empower communities, and tackle real-world challenges.

While we’re dedicated to developing world-class talent on the pitch, our purpose goes far beyond it. Football is our starting point, but our real goal is to channel its energy into creating lasting impact.

This runs through everything we do, from nurturing players who grow into leaders to supporting staff and partners who step up to make a difference. The Purpose Entrepreneurship Program is a shining example of how we bring this vision to life.

A Platform for Purpose

Launched in collaboration with Common Goal and powered by the Mansour family’s commitment to giving back, the Purpose Entrepreneurship Program is more than a funding initiative. It’s a platform for individuals in our community to tackle pressing problems head-on and make their environments better through purpose-driven projects.

Over the past two years, we’ve seen this programme spark incredible ideas that disrupt the status quo. From empowering young farmers to creating opportunities for differently-abled individuals, these changemakers have proven that football’s influence extends far beyond the pitch.

Meet the 2025 Changemakers

This year, after reviewing an inspiring range of ideas proposed by our community, we’ve selected five projects that stood out for their potential to create meaningful change:

  • Akwaaba Foundation: Tackling youth unemployment in Ghana by equipping young people, especially women and girls, with in-demand skills to improve literacy and employability.

  • Suame GH: Using sports as a tool to educate Ghanaian communities about waste management and plastic recycling.

  • Bluewaters Fishery: Fighting malnutrition in Akrade, Ghana, through sustainable fish farming using the reservoir method.

  • Aya Collective: Supporting rural women in Northern Ghana with income opportunities during the dry season by harvesting and distributing baobab powder, while funding scholarships.

  • Lycoklin: Promoting sustainability and creating jobs by turning agricultural waste into eco-friendly charcoal briquettes, reducing deforestation in Ghana.

Beyond Funding: Building an Ecosystem of Support

Each of these changemakers will receive up to $20,000 in funding to bring their ideas to life. But at Right to Dream, we know that money alone isn’t enough to drive real change.

That’s why the Purpose Entrepreneurship Program provides so much more:

  • Mentorship: Access to experienced mentors who have walked the path before.

  • Workshops: Tailored training to equip changemakers with the tools they need to succeed.

  • Expert Input: Guidance from trustees who bring valuable expertise to shape big ideas into actionable plans.

  • Networking opportunities: Access to a wider network, providing invaluable connections and opportunities.

This approach ensures that every project has the support it needs to create tangible, lasting impact.

A Legacy of Impact

The Purpose Entrepreneurship Program is about more than just launching projects. It’s about creating a ripple effect—a network of changemakers who inspire others to step up and make a difference in their own communities.

As we look to the future, our focus isn’t just on the trophies we’ve earned or the players we’ve developed. It’s on the lives we’ve helped transform, the communities we’ve strengthened, and the legacy we’re building together.
