FC Nordsjælland Women Make History with Domestic Double & Champions League Spot

fc nordsjælland

FC Nordsjælland Women have made history by securing the domestic double. They clinched the Danish Cup title with a 2-1 victory over Brøndby, just days after celebrating their first-ever league title.

Making this achievement even more special, two academy graduates, Emilia Asgeirsdottir (19) and Alma Aagaard (18), netted both goals in the Cup final, showcasing the incredible talent nurtured within our academies and highlighting the organization’s commitment to nurturing young talent.

This marks the third time FCN Women have lifted the Danish, adding to their triumphs in 2020 and 2023.

Building Champions, Our Way

At Right to Dream, winning is just one part of the equation. We’re equally passionate about how we win, which is why this victory is especially meaningful with 50% of the squad being academy graduates. It’s a reflection to our commitment to developing young talents and giving them the platform to shine on the biggest stages.

Head Coach Chris Sargeant captured the essence of this achievement perfectly: "Everyone has contributed to this victory, and it has taken the whole collective to make an impact on today's victory. You only win battles and are successful if everyone contributes to the collective, and we have proven time and time again that everyone does."

A Global Celebration of Women's Football

The success of FCN Women isn’t an isolated triumph. It’s a reflection of a thriving culture of excellence in women’s football within our community, as our community member in Egypt, TUT FC, also celebrated a domestic double this season. This dual triumph underscores the depth of our investment in women's football across the globe.

From our girls' academies in Ghana, Egypt, and Denmark, to our professional teams in Denmark and Egypt, we are building a global network of talented female athletes.

And through programs like Coaching Queens – a partnership between Right to Dream, The Powerhouse Project and Nike dedicated to empowering aspiring female coaches across Africa – we are ensuring that women have the opportunity to lead and shape the future of the sport at every level.

The Future is Bright

With these historic wins, FCN Women have also secured their qualification for the UEFA Women's Champions League next season, setting the stage for even greater achievements.

But more than that, it serves as an inspiration for girls everywhere.

The future of women's football is bright, and at Right to Dream, we’re proud to be part of this exciting movement.
