Yaw graduated from Right to Dream Academy in 2015 having secured a professional contract with English Premier League giants, Manchester City FC. He is currently on loan to French Ligue 1 side, Lille OSC, and made his professional debut in October 2015.
Hailing from the Western-Region of Ghana, Yaw joined the Academy in 2008. Over the last seven years he has developed into a strong, attacking midfielder – earning call-ups to the Ghana U17 and U20 teams.
Following a string of outstanding performances, he won the Most Valuable Player of the 2015 Africa Youth Championship and subsequently helped Ghana reach the Quarter-Finals of the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.
At his graduation ceremony held at the Academy, Yaw reflected on his time at RtD:
“I think about the hard work that has happened to develop as a footballer and student – and thank Right to Dream for what they have done to help me. Now I have an opportunity to go and prove my talent, but what motivates me most of all is the chance to be a role model to my African brothers and sisters. It is something that unites all Right to Dream graduates.”
Yaw became the 28th Academy graduate to sign a Professional Football contract since 2007.
It has been an incredible journey for Yaw, and now he has the chance to put the hard work and dedication of the last seven years into practice.
