David Accam is a Right to Dream graduate who plays professional football for Chicago Fire in the MLS and appeared for the Black Stars in the African Cup of Nations 2015.
Born in the Teshie-Nungua environs of Accra, Accam joined the Right to Dream Academy in 2004. After four years at the Academy, Accam was awarded a three-year scholarship to attend Hartpury College in the UK. He combined his study time in England with playing football, and won a place at the prestigious Nike Academy in the 2011/2012 season.
Following a brief spell at Ostersunds FK, he signed for 5-time Swedish champions, Helsingborgs IF in 2012 where he enjoyed two successful seasons as a free-scoring winger, before joining MLS side, Chicago Fire, in January 2015.
Blessed with pace and flair, Accam received his first call-up to the Ghana National team in 2013, narrowly missing out on a place in the 23-man World Cup Squad in 2014. He has since cemented his place in the Black Stars squad.
